Lady GaGa – You and I, Single Review
Song: You and I
Artist: Lady GaGa
Album: Born This Way
Release: August 2011
Lady GaGa is in his fourth single from her platinum album Born This Way and is “you and I.” The song is written by herself GaGa and co-produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange, who also does vocals and is a clue rock n roll and country influenced and is very different from the rest of the songs on the album. Most of the songs from Lady GaGa is based on the category of electro dance music, but “You and I” takes a different direction and shows that GaGa, while being a huge pop star also can be a star rock. Samples of the song “We Will Rock You” by Queen. I was a little puzzled as to why this song was chosen as the fourth single GaGa has been doing since June 2010 and also through its Monster Ball Tour. In some ways it reminds me of “Speechless” by The Fame Monster, but much better, since it seems much more raw and vocals are on point GaGa. He wrote this song about her on and off again boyfriend Luc Carl. In a sense, I understand why she chose this as a single, maybe she is trying to show everyone that she is not a pop star but also can sing different types of musical genres like Rock n Roll and Country, and she is trying to get them to increase their already huge fan base.
